Simon Goff is a British composer, producer and violinist based in Berlin, DE.
Goff’s debut solo album ‘Vale’ (2021) marks a significant milestone in his evolution as an artist. Fusing his classical background with bold electronic experimentation, the album was praised by The Quietus as "a statement of both awe and intent… it’s remarkable that the album marks his debut outing on his own terms". It showcases Goff's ability to balance emotional depth with intricate sound design, weaving together his classical roots with daring, ambient textures and minimalist structures, revealing Goff’s nuanced understanding of how to create emotional resonance through sound.
His follow-up album, ‘Spark Like Living Mothers’ (2023), further explores his multifaceted practice, offering six immersive tracks that reflect his intuitive approach to electronic composition. The album leans into deeper, textural realms, using space, resonance, and timbre to craft an atmosphere that envelops the listener. With its richly textured soundscapes and meditative melodies, Spark Like Living Mothers is a testament to Goff's ability to craft music that is both intensely personal and universally evocative, reinforcing his position as an innovative voice in modern music.
An in demand collaborator, Simon has worked with artists as diverse as Apparat, Oscar winning composer Hildur Gudnadottir, for which he was awarded a Grammy award for his contribution to her work, and multi-platinum selling artist Katie Melua to create a genre defying album ‘Aerial Objects’. ‘Aerial Objects’ is a brave and inviting record to get lost in - Composer Magazine.
As a composer Simon scored the BAFTA nominated drama series (BBC / Paramount +), The Gold, starring Jack Lowden, Hugh Bonneville, Sean Harris and Dominic Cooper, as well as the independent Czech feature Úsvit, Canal+ TV Series Dcera Národa and most recently Waves (Vlny) which has been shortlisted for the 2025 Academy Awards Best International Feature Film.
A classically trained violinist, Goff has performed internationally with the likes of Peter Broderick, Federico Albanese and Xiu Xiu and has performed at Funkhaus (Berlin, DE) the South Bank Centre (London, UK), Elbphilharmonie (Hamburg, DE) and CTM Festival (Berlin, De). His live solo shows across Europe have further cemented his reputation as an innovator of the genre, seeing him layer his performance samples of electronics and live violin, to create a textured and epic expansion of his recorded works.
